Accelerating Progress: From Evidence and Innovation to Action

This session brings together researchers, implementers, and country leaders to examine how proven maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) solutions-and promising innovations-can translate more quickly into lifesaving impact. Despite major gains in recent decades, progress in reducing maternal and child mortality has slowed, with preventable deaths still unacceptably high. This satellite session will focus on three priorities: identifying MNCH interventions ready for immediate scale through routine services; examining near-ready innovations with high potential and what remains to enable responsible adoption; and discussing country perspectives on the key enablers, barriers, and opportunities for uptake and scale. Through case examples-from postpartum hemorrhage response and multiple micronutrient supplementation to emerging technologies such as IV iron and AI-enabled decision support-the session will generate practical insights on how countries and partners can accelerate implementation while preparing health systems for the next generation of tools.
