Voices for Change: Ensuring more Responsive Maternal and Newborn Health Programming by Elevating Parents’ and Frontline Health Workers’ Experiences of Baby Loss.

Session Information

The International Stillbirth Alliance (ISA) and partners are developing the third Lancet Stillbirth Series, likely to be published in 2027. Building on previous series (2011, 2016), this series will strive to actively integrate the lived experiences of bereaved parents and frontline health workers throughout its development. This participatory session invites parents and frontline health workers at IMNHC to help shape the series and build a sustained platform for engagement beyond publication. Following a brief introduction to the series and its three proposed themes-progress and gaps in prevention, implementation of evidence-based strategies, and respectful bereavement care-participants will join small group discussions to share insights, challenges, and ideas for change. Contributions will inform the series and future global MNH initiatives, ensuring that those most affected by stillbirth and newborn loss have a meaningful voice in research, policy, and program development.
