The dashboard is not the destination: How to detect the data-to-action gap in MNCH

Session Information

As data systems for maternal and newborn health become more sophisticated, a key question remains: Is the data being used, and how can we tell? This panel brings together voices from government, implementing partners, and the private sector to explore how we measure and document the use (or underuse) of health data in real-world decision-making. Moving beyond traditional metrics like logins or dashboard views, speakers will share innovative approaches, grounded in behavioral science and mixed methods, that trace the pathway from data access to action. Through practical case studies, the panel offers attendees a clear framework for surfacing invisible data use and linking it to measurable health system improvements. Participants will leave with replicable tools and insights to strengthen measurement, accountability, and advocacy in their own contexts.
