Investing in Midwifery: Country Applications of the Midwifery Investment Case Framework Midwifery Models of Care (MMoC) are a proven, cost-effective strategy to improve maternal and newborn health (MNH) outcomes and optimize health system resources. While evidence on MMoC’s cost-effectiveness is growing, data on its broader economic benefits remain limited. This panel presents the application of a newly developed investment case framework in Egypt, Sierra Leone, and Zambia, generating country-specific evidence on the economic impact of scaling midwife-led care.
