Stronger Together: The Role of Professional Associations in Advancing SRMNCH

Session Information

Professional associations play a critical role in continuing to elevate reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (SRMNCH) as priorities to governments, ministries and private/public sectors, especially in the current geopolitical landscape of competing priorities and shrinking funding. Professional associations bring essential technical expertise and deep knowledge of local and national cultural contexts and health systems, enabling the implementation of life-saving interventions that advance high-quality SRMNCH care. This session will feature representatives from global and key pediatric, midwifery, obstetric, and nursing associations, who will share how their organizations drive essential programmatic work and advocacy towards improving and harmonizing SRMNCH services as well as how to develop partnerships with in-country leaders to achieve the shared goals of delivering high quality SRMNCH care with the overall aim of improving survival and well-being of moms, babies, and children everywhere.
